Before The Road, We Had To Get The Drainage Right.
If you’ve been following our Okhunmwun Road transformation, then you already know the story didn’t start with asphalt.
Before the road could take shape, there was another important job to do — the drainage.
As part of the same project executed for Gorrion Engineering Limited in 2024, drainage channels were constructed on both sides of the road to provide a proper pathway for stormwater and help protect the road from water-related damage.
The pictures here show some of those moments when the work was still underway — concrete being poured, the drainage taking shape, and the team putting in the work one section at a time.

It may not be the part of the project that gets the most attention when you see the finished road, but it is one of the things that makes the road possible.
First, we dealt with the water. Then came the road.
And if you remember our previous posts (You can check it by following the link https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HhyCsuLK2/), you’ve already seen what this same road eventually became.
From drainage construction to the concrete pavement section to the main asphalted road…
The Okhunmwun Road transformation was truly a process, and every stage played its part.
What do you think of the work so far?
