From Bare Land to a Place of Care: The Making of Uzebba Primary Health Care Centre, Edo State. (Our 2026 Project)
If you stood on this land at the beginning of this project, you probably wouldn’t have imagined what it would become.
There were no walls.
No roof.
No rooms.
No doors.
No sign that a healthcare facility would soon stand here.
Just an empty piece of land in Uzebba, Edo State.

But every building that serves a purpose starts exactly this way — with a vision before there is a structure.
Then the work began.
First came the measurements and the pegs.
The land was carefully marked out. Lines were drawn. Positions were established.
Then came the digging.

The first trenches cut into the earth were perhaps easy to overlook, but they represented something important:
The foundation of a place that would one day serve people.
Then the blocks started going up.

One block after another.
Slowly, the empty land began to look different.
What was once just a piece of land now had walls.
The rooms began to take shape.
The layout became visible.
And suddenly, you could begin to see the building that existed only in a plan before.
Then came the roof.

That was another turning point.
The structure was no longer simply a construction site. It was becoming a building.
And eventually…
The final touches were completed.
The walls were finished.
The windows were installed.
The doors were in place.
The empty land we started with had become a Primary Health Care Centre.

But this isn’t just a story about blocks, cement, roofing sheets and construction.
It is a story about what a building can mean to people.
One day, someone may walk through those doors looking for medical attention.
A mother may bring her child.
A resident may come when they need care.
Healthcare workers may begin their day here, serving people in the community.
Staff will have a place to live through the staff quarters.
The facility will have its own generator house to support its operations, and a security house to help protect the premises.
And that is why we believe construction is never just about putting up buildings.
It is about creating spaces where life happens.
Today, when we look at these five photographs, we don’t just see five stages of construction.
We see a journey:
Bare land.
A vision.
A foundation.
Rising walls.
A roof.
And finally, a completed facility.
Started in 2025, Completed in March, 2026 in Uzebba, Edo State, this Primary Health Care Centre was executed for GORRION ENGINEERING LIMITED.
At Cidest Global Services LTD, we understand that the most satisfying part of construction isn’t watching a building rise.
It’s knowing that something that once existed only as an idea can eventually become real, useful and meaningful to people.
This is what progress looks like.
From an empty piece of land… to a place built for care.
